for 1901, 25 1/2in. nitro reproved 'Acier Hercule' steel barrels with sunken rib and feathered sight ramp at the breech end with traces of gilt finish, ramped bead fore-sight, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, treble-grip action with rising third bite, the fences with pin loaded indicators (the pin retaining discs serial numbered 18116), rounded bar action, 'lunette' style double triggers and guards, triggerplate mounted manual sliding triggerblock safety, rearward placed underlever, Art Nouveau style scroll engraving with gilt infill, the underside with an oval relief engraved and gilt infilled 'IDEAL' and the Manufrance trademark similarly executed, 14 3/4in. stock with integral retractable sling, 3/4in. ebonite buttplate, the heel with well fitted wooden insert, the fore-end with selective slide-forward or detach lever, weight 5lb. 10oz.
